5 Do’s and 5 Don’ts for post-lockdown Hair Care
As I write this, I don’t know if lockdowns are going to end or will be present in some measure or the other. However, Covid-19 seems to be here to stay. From a self-care and beauty perspective, nowhere are the effects of Coronavirus and lockdown more visible than on our hair. Most people have let their hair grow, not colored the hair or done any cosmetic procedure on the hair in a long time. So, here are some quick dos and don’ts for post covid hair care.

Do’s
Practice nourishing DIY routines at home: Whether it's oil massages, a DIY spa or hair masks, keep them up and adopt them as a part of your routine.
Limit your visits to Salons & Parlours. You want to minimize all risk of infection.
Eat a healthy, balanced diet to ensure that your hair gets beautifully nourished from within.
Exercise regularly to improve circulation. Inversion yoga poses like downward facing dog (Adhomukhashwanasana) and head stand (Sirsasana) are especially useful for hair health. Always be guided by a yoga teacher.
Ensure you get your forty winks on time. Good sleep controls the body’s hormones, thus ensuring harmony on the scalp and hair.
Don’ts
Rush out to the nearest Salon, do your due diligence about the Salon’s safety procedures.
Forget to wear a mask at all points of time in the salon.
Look for high maintenance hair cuts or complicated colouring jobs. This is the best time to go minimalistic and low maintenance.
Do multiple heat inducing services on the hair. It might be a shock to the hair shaft and cause breakages.
Overload your scalp and hair with products. Minimize your routine to maximize your benefits. Talk to a trusted Salon professional or dermatologist today.
The world has changed from where it was four months ago. Adapt to the new normal by nourishing your hair holistically without going overboard!
